Built for the real American household.
Not the idealized one. The one with busy schedules, limited counter space, and a recycling bin that's always confusing.
Where this started.
Cesafi Yibeya grew out of a simple frustration. Sustainable living content was everywhere, but most of it assumed things that weren't true for most American families. It assumed you had a yard. It assumed you had time. It assumed you were starting from a place of already knowing quite a bit.
The reality is different. Most households want to do better but don't know where the leverage points are. They try composting and give up because no one explained what to do with the bin in winter. They switch to reusable bags but still come home with a drawer full of plastic. They read about conscious consumption but can't translate it into actual grocery store decisions.
Cesafi Yibeya was created to close that gap. Not by simplifying the topic, but by being more specific about what it looks like in practice.
Four principles that shape everything we build.
Specificity over inspiration
Motivation fades. Specific instructions don't. Every module gives you a clear next action, not just a reason to care.
Progress over perfection
Doing 60% of something consistently matters more than attempting 100% and burning out. We design for sustainability of practice, not just sustainability of the planet.
Context matters
Advice built for a European city doesn't translate directly to an American suburb. We account for US grocery stores, curbside programs, and product availability.
No certification required
You don't need to become an expert. You need enough knowledge to make better decisions in your own home. That's the scope we work within.
Tested against reality, not theory.
Every course module goes through a practical review process. We ask whether someone with no prior knowledge could follow these steps in an average American household. If the answer isn't clearly yes, the content gets rewritten.
We cover composting in apartments and houses. We address the confusion around recycling labels. We explain which plastic-free swaps are genuinely worth making and which are more about aesthetics than impact.
The goal is always the same: after completing a module, you should be able to do something differently. Not just think differently. Do differently.
